So today is a pretty busy update day! I had my first doctor's appointment yesterday, I started my first day of work today, and I'm also 6 weeks today!
Doctor's appointment went well and was to be expected. I peed in a cup (Oh I can't wait to do that again every single time for the next 8 months) Had to have my "exam" and answered a bunch of questions. I was a little bit naughty and told them I didn't know my exact date of my last period, so they guestimated me to be about 3 days ahead of what I know I am so I was able to get into an ultrasound THIS Friday at 8:30, woo hoo! I'm so excited! I pretty much decided to do a repeat cesarean, I just personally feel it's in my best interest, but I'm going to keep my fingers crossed that perhaps I go into labor on my own so I'll feel at least one contraction. I don't want to be jipped of this all inclusive women's right of birthing passage, or whatever other crazy way to put I can come up with. I know I'm nuts for even saying it, but really I'm curious! I've had 2 kids and don't even know what a contraction feels like! I know, I'm lucky ha
First day at work was good! I did some busy work, answered the phone, didn't mess up too much (just a sandwich order, but I felt really bad!), and wasn't terribly busy. Next week we're supposed to get really busy so time should just fly on by!
Week 6! Can't believe we've already known for 2 weeks now! I was going to announce today, but since my ultrasound is so close I'm going to save it. I kind of like having a secret, I feel like I'm guarding it close to my heart and am getting a little possessive, so maybe it'll be a good thing when it's out! I keep wanting to write cryptic messages on my facebook, but am stopping myself! In due time!
Oh and I know you've been dying for that cheeseburger update. When Justin got home from work I pleaded my case and he didn't even argue with me! We ordered take out from Native New Yorker and I got my absolutely delicious cheeseburger with grilled mushrooms that I was dying for. It was everything I wanted and more! And for the kicker, the very next day he actually decided we could go to Five Guys! So I had TWO cheeseburgers, and now I don't want any more! That was a short lived craving, but it was fun while it lasted!
A snapshot of 6 weeks:
Symptoms - Nausea - Some days are better than others, and it doesn't usually last the whole day. Sometimes it'll be bad in the morning and I won't be able to eat, or sometimes I'll eat and it'll be fine until the evening. It's definitely not as bad as when I was pg with the girls, but I also didn't start getting sick with them until 7 weeks. So I'm keeping my fingers crossed for another week or two, and then we'll see. I'm getting more and more tired every day, but I'm still not able to sleep at night. It really sucks! I toss and turn for at least an hour, up to 2 hours and then don't sleep very well the rest of the night. My boobs hurt sometimes, and I getting cramping too, all the normal stuff.
Food cravings - Nothing at the moment! Food still isn't very appealing.
Size of baby - Baby is now the size of a Sweet Pea. Can't wait to see what Tiny Bean looks like on the ultrasound on Friday!
