1st Weekly Update - 4 Weeks

First update, and first post, gotta start somewhere! I've always regretted not writing a blog while I was pregnant with twins, which would have made such a fun source of reading enjoyment with my ranting and raving and complaining and all of the above, but I digress. At any rate, I'm pregnant again, so here we are!

The story of how we (read, I) found out! Basically, to keep a long story short I've been suffering from what I thought to be some postpartum side effects from having twin infants, severe lethargy and chronic weight gain. In September my baby fever came to a head, so we stopped birth control to see if nature would take its course. I didn't get my period for 57 days! After 50 days I called my new OB, made an appointment, had bloodwork drawn and was finally diagnosed with Clinical Hypothyroidism. My PCP put me on Levothyroxine, but my cycles have still been out of wack due to my thyroid not regulating hormone levels. Getting pregnant suddenly appeared to be a far off dream, though not impossible, I was coming to terms with the fact that it might take a really long time.

Fast forward to January 10th, I woke up after having a crazy dream that I was pregnant with Quadruplets. I remember far too many details of this weird dream, but most vividly the ultrasound showing two sacs with two little babies in each one, *gasp*. I sincerely hope that I don't have dreams telling of the future.

Here's where I admit that after frequenting The Bump throughout my pregnancy with A & V, that I learned a little trick as far as getting pregnant is concerned. See, Amazon has these nifty little pregnancy tests called Wondfo's that you can buy starting at $5 for 25!! So I'll admit, I use them in the days leading up to when my period is due, just in case! I figured my period is due in approximately a weekish, I had a weird dream about quadruplets, meh might as well use a wondfo just for the hell of it.

To say I was shocked when it came up positive is an understatement, I think I may have had a mini heart attack! I took 3 more tests, all showed positive. I went to walmart and bought some digital tests, "Pregnant" popped up within 30 seconds. Holy crap, this is really happening!

So now, here we are 4 weeks pregnant, a long way to go until September 19th, 2012 and we're not out of the woods yet, which is why if you're reading this, most likely we've made it past 8 weeks without incident and I've seen a little baby heartbeat on our first ultrasound.

A snapshot of 4 weeks:
Symptoms - Breast tenderness, frequent urination (could also be because I upped my water intake), and I can smell everything in the world, and it's not pleasant.
Food cravings - Nothing yet, I'm not even really that hungry. Though I have been eating an absurd amount of potato chips with french onion dip.
Size of baby - Baby is now the size of a poppy seed, so really really tiny!

What am I looking forward to? Our first ultrasound, not only to verify that everything is ok, but I'd also like to put that quadruplet dream to rest! I love my twins, but I'll be very satisfied with just one little baby!
